Treasure Seekers discos run three nights a week - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and requires a manager to be there from 5pm-9pm on each day to oversee the team of volunteers and make the disco an amazing experience. The discos are for adults with Learning Difficulties, some of whom attend with carers. They run as a regular Disco with a tuck shop, sound desk, etc. with up to 200 people a night attending. The role is for 15 hours which includes some administration time to plan the monthly theme nights, order tuck stock and so on.

Purpose of Role

To oversee the smooth running of The Discos. This includes administration and planning, ensuring compliance with policies, effective management of volunteers and helping to deliver theme nights and manage any challenging behaviour.

Main Activities/Tasks

  • To run the Discos when you are on shift including supporting the volunteers and managing the environment
  • To ensure the environment is left as its found, clean and tidy
  • To manage the environment, including dealing with any challenging behaviour and to put things in place where needed
  • To work within, and promote, all policies, procedures and Health and Safety
  • To complete any ongoing administration such as volunteer records, tuck orders, theme nights etc
  • To be able to lead staff and delegate relevant jobs
  • To work with the Directors within their direction of leadership
  • To encourage and enthuse staff in their work
  • To competently and confidently deal with customer complaints

Training

Full training will be given during induction and on an ongoing basis, however experience of training others, challenging behaviour, events management, adults with learning difficulties, and/or health and social care will be an advantage.

Location

Kingfisher Church, Moor Street, Tredworth, and at various other locations as the needs of the business required
