About Emma

Emma joined Kingfisher Treasure Seekers in March 2022 as a member of the Anchor Team and soon got involved with TSPA too.

Emma qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1998 and worked for 9 years as a health professional in acute psychiatry. She initially worked in hospitals in Wiltshire and Bath and then moved up to Gloucestershire in 2002. She helped set up the low secure unit at Wotton Lawn Hospital in Gloucester and worked on several wards there. Emma is really excited about having a role where she can draw on her mental healthcare skills and experience.

Throughout her adult life Emma has engaged in voluntary youth work. That led to her being employed as a Youth Work Enabler for the Bristol District of the Methodist Church for 7 years where Emma provided support and organised events across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Bath and Bristol. Over the years Emma has also dabbled in piano teaching, photography and worked at the Friendship Cafe charity in Gloucester.

You can often find Emma engaging in voluntary work, fundraising or organising events/groups/parties as she has a passion for getting people together and seeing them enjoy themselves whilst engaging in meaningful activities. She also sings in a community choir. She enjoys being on a badminton court and that passion led her to set up an official badminton club in Gloucester in 2018. Emma loves facilitating group activities, enjoys a good zip wire and faced her fears in 2019 by jumping out of a plane for charity!
