Job Summary

Kingfisher Treasure Seekers has been piloting a project with the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) offering enablement support to high intensity users of health services. The aim is to offer support to individuals who have mental health issues, to help improve their overall wellbeing. We do this through supporting people to develop skills, build emotional resilience, find a sense of meaning and purpose and support the development of healthy social networks.

Enablement Support Worker

Purpose of Role

To enable people to become ‘the best version of themselves’. This means a flexible approach to working in supporting individuals identified by the company.

Main Activities/Tasks

  • Supporting the training of identified individuals in personal skills, social skills and wider vocational skills as part of a co-produced plan
  • Attending groups with identified individuals and, where possible, support the development of sufficient skills and confidence to enable the individual to access groups and services independently. Furthermore to tease out learning opportunities throughout each day.
  • To ensure that all records are kept up to date and accurate
  • To work as part of the wider enablement team as as part of a multi-agency approach, to ensure continuity and consistency of support
  • To attend training as required
  • To work within the policies of Kingfisher Treasure Seekers
  • To promote Kingfisher Treasure Seekers and it's work
  • Any other duties that may be required.

Competencies

  • Experience of working in a care/enablement setting (or equivalent)
  • Patience and understanding
  • A passion for skill development
  • Organisational and administrative skills
  • Self motivation and the ability to be self-directed
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn new software to record training and development
  • The ability to work within the policies and procedures of Kingfisher Treasure Seekers

  • A willingness to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the business

Training

Full training will be given during induction and on an ongoing basis

Location

Treasure Seekers Building, 52 Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2NF, and various others depending on co-produced plans

Hours

25 hours per week. Overtime is usually available across the organisation. For the right person we would consider fewer contracted hours. 

Salary

£8.79 per hour

DBS

This role will subject to an Enhanced DBS check

Contract Length

This is a one year contract, with a potential one year extension in line with funding agreements.
