Mental Health Awareness Training

What Is It?

Treasure Seekers Mental Health Awareness training is a learning programme that is based around an aim to build compassion, understanding and confidence to engage in positive ways with adults living with mental ill health, learning disabilities (LD) or personality disorders (PD). We hope that this will result in better outcomes for all.

What Will The Programme Involve?

There are three formats of programme that we are currently offering:

  • half day programme
  • one day programme
  • two day programme

Half Day Programme Content

On our half day programme you can expect to learn an overview of psychological theory underpinning human development which will give an introduction to the differences between mental health, autism, learning disabilities and personality disorders. It will begin to give an insight into the belief systems that can lead to personal biases.

One Day Programme Content

On our one and two day programmes, you can expect to receive both a theoretical and practical approach. Specifically on our one day programme, you will receive a theoretical bias with some exposure to the lived-experience of vulnerable people thus enabling a more appropriate and positive response when engaging with a person in crisis.

Two Day Programme Content

On our two day programme, it will allow for a more in depth exploration of each aspect of the psychologically-informed approach. This programme will build the skills necessary to enable a positive response when engaging with a person approaching or in crisis.

The one and two day programmes will address:

  • The differences between learning disabilities, mental ill health and personality disorders
  • The psychological theory underpinning human development
  • The belief systems that can lead us to personal biases
