Youth Support at The Cavern

Support at The Cavern provides listening support, low level interventions such as board games, inclusive activities and offers a supportive environment.

We help young (aged 13-19) people feel less isolated, cope with anxiety, meet new people and provide support at a time of day when little low level or early intervention support is available from the statutory services (5-10pm). We are funded by Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board for this service and we work closely with a wide range of statutory mental health services to ensure a joined up approach.

Our team of support workers provide a listening ear and facilitate a safe place to provide non-clinical, early intervention and prevention work for young people who are struggling.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience of supporting young people and/or people with mental health issues. More importantly than that they will have a passion for seeing people become the best they can be. Passionate about being a part of someone’s journey to better their lives, learning new skills and building healthier relationships. They will have excellent people skills and good communication skills. They will show leadership qualities amongst their peers, encouraging and role modelling best practice.

All applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and must provide two references before a start date can be arranged.
